How does it affect us?

These substances are known as halocarbons, which include, among others, halons, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Ozone molecules in the stratosphere can be destroyed by chlorine and bromine compounds released from human activities, such as the manufacturing and use of industrial chemicals.

Numerous actions have been taken internationally to preserve the ozone layer and stop its deterioration. The main steps taken to preserve the ozone layer are:. 1. Eliminate the production and consumption of ozone-harming materials. 2. The production, import, and use of chemical substances are regulated by national and international laws and restrictions. 3. Technologies that do not harm the ozone layer are being developed and adopted, and this is being referred to as the promotion of alternative technologies.
