Who is she ?
She continued to perform on stage until the end of her life and became a legendary figure in show business. Josephine Baker died in 1975 at the age of 68, leaving behind a remarkable legacy as an artist and civil rights activist.Her extraordinary journey and her fight against racism have made her an a icon of emancipation and equality, and she remains an emblematic figure in the cultural and social history of the 20th century.
What she accomplished ?
During the World War II Josephine Baker played an active role in the French Resistance. She used her notoriety to deliver secret messages for the Allies and was decorated for her efforts. After the war, Josephine Baker became involved in the fight for civil rights and was a fervent activist against racial segregation in the United States. In 1963, she participated in the March in Washington alongside Martin Luther King Jr.
