  • The leaders of the Axis powers during World War II were important political and military figures during that conflict. The EJE was established by the signing of the Tripatito pact during the year 1940 having a strong militarist, racist and very nationalist ideology

The Yalta Conference (February 1945) The conference at Yalta in Crimea was the first of the conferences in 1945 to try to plan out the future after the end of the war. It was attended by Stalin, Roosevelt, and Stalin, although Roosevelt was already ill and died two months later.

The Potsdam Conference (July 1945) After the German surrender in July 1945 the Big Three met again in Potsdam, just outside Berlin. The main representatives were Stalin, Truman (Roosevelt’s successor as President of the USA) and Churchill (who was then replaced by Clement Attlee after the Labour victory in the British general election of 1945).

  • The ONU was founded by the 51 countries - currently 193 - that signed the "Charter of the United Nations" after World War II.

  • After the first world conflict (1914-1918), the victorious countries decided to create the League of Nations, with the aim of "promoting international cooperation and achieving peace and security".
  • Officially, the ONU was born in San Francisco on October 24, 1945.
- Its purpose was to have the maintenance of peace. - Cooperation in solidarity. - The defense of human rights and support for the self-determination of peoples.Very humanistic goals.

  • The Security Council was to be composed of 5 veto-wielding permanent members:
United States, Soviet Union, France, United Kingdom and China).
  • After the fall of communism, the organization began to play a much more active role, to the point that it appeared that the United Nations could be the cornerstone for the construction of the New World Order.
