Renzo Piano
Renzo Piano is an Italian architect who has made an indelible mark on modern architecture. Piano was born in 1937 in Genoa into a family of builders and contractors, and it was no surprise that he would follow the same path.Piano initially studied architecture at the Milan Politecnico, but he transferred to the University of Florence, it was here that he became interested in the movement of modern architecture, and he was particularly taken with the works of Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn.He started his own practice in 1981, called the Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Over the years, Piano has designed numerous notable buildings worldwide, including the Centre Georges Pompidou, San Giorgio bridge, the Shard and Parco della Musica.
