The Classical Period

I- Homeric or Heroic Period (1200- 800 BCE) II- Classical Greek Period (800- 200 BCE) III- Classical Roman Period ( 200 BCE - 455 CE) IV- Patristic Period (C. 70 CE -455 CE) Homer was a Greek poet credited with creating the famous works the Iliad and the Odyssey around 800 B.C. From the 4th century BC, all the Greeks began to study these works, conserving them as the best heroic epics. The main literary works attributed to Homer are the Iliad and the Odyssey, great Greek epics. The Iliad, written between the 9th and 8th centuries BC, Aesop was a Greek slave, who is known for the genre of fables attributed to him. "Aesop's Fables," which have anthropomorphic animals as main characters, have remained popular throughout history, and are still taught as moral lessons and used as themes for children's plays and cartoons. Among the most outstanding fables of this legendary character, we find: "The Old Hunting Dog" "The lying shepherd" “Of geese and cranes” "The frogs asking for a king" "The Farmer and the Snake" "The wolves and the rams" and many others.

William Wordsworth Cultivated the lyrical genre since his works were all poetry and were intended to express some feeling.Wordsworth's most important works were The Prelude, which was his autobiography, Lyrical Ballads, three volumes of poems written with his friend Samuel Taylor Coleridge. An Evening Walk and Descriptive Sketches, which were his first publications and dealt with his travels through Switzerland and France.
