Once upon a time there was a princess who lived with her stepmother and her two evil stepsisters.

Once upon a time, in a country far away, many, many years ago, there lived a lovely princess with lips red as the rose, hair black as ebony, and skin white as snow.

Once upon a time far out in the sea where the water is very deep, the sea king ruled the undersea world. He lived with his mother and four daughters. The youngest of the four princesses was the little mermaid.

There once lived, in one of the large and rich cities of China, a tailor, named Mustapha. He was very poor. He could hardly, by his daily labor, maintain himself and his family, which consisted only of his wife and a son.
