My day Yesterday when I woke I just couldn't face the thought of another day in the office so I did something I've never done before. I 1phoned the office to say I was sick. As I crept back upstairs to my bedroom I could hear my flatmate Alice's alarm clock 2making a noise. I presumed she was still fast asleep so I knocked on her door, then got myself ready for the day. I went to the kitchen and 3tidied the mess from the previous night (we'd had friends over for dinner). After a quick breakfast I caught a bus into town. I thought I'd check out the sales and see if I could 4get any bargains. While I was on the bus I 5started a conversation with a girl who told me which sales to go to. After a bit of shopping, I ate a sandwich in the park and 6enjoyed the sun for an hour or so. After that I decided to go for a walk to 7give me more of an appetite for dinner with Alice later in the evening. We met at 7.00, a little early for dinner but I didn't want to 8be in town till late. Besides, I'd been out a lot lately an wanted to 9get some sleep. In fact, when I did get to bed my mind was racing and I didn't 10manage to go to sleep till two o'clock.
