Plot:
Act 1

Act 1
- Betty is ill
- Susanna feels that Betty may be affected by the superatural
- Reverend Parris interrogates Abigail on her, Betty and others dancing naked in the woods and why she was dismissed from service by the Proctors
- The Putnams come to see an unconsious Betty and (Mrs Putnam) insinuates that it is the work the Devil and that her daughter, Ruth, is consious but faint
- Mrs Putnam states that she made Tituba talk with the dead to see what was wrong with Ruth and why her other children died
- Mercy (Putnams' servant) arrives and says Ruth is healing
- Mrs Putnam exits with Rev. Parris
- Mary enters and her, Mercy and Abigail worry over being exposed for dancing naked in the woods and try to wake up Betty
- Betty wakes up but tries to fly out the window to her dead mother, and falls unconcious again from Abigail's blackmailing
- Proctor enters, Mercy and Mary exit, and Abigail tries to seduce Proctor and revive their previous affair and Procter gets angry when she mentions his wife, Elizabeth
- Rev. Parris (+the others and Giles) re-enters after hearing Betty whine and they all converse over how these sicknesses are the work of the Devil
- Rev. Parris complains about his wage
- Rev. Hale enters and he declares that it may not be the Devil making Betty sick, and Rebecca asks Rev. Hale if Betty is going to be alright after Mrs Putnam pronounces that hshe has had 7 misscarriages, which Hale view as a danger to Betty
- Hale tries to exorcise Betty, but in the process, Abigail and Tituba come forward to be exorcised, and accuse many (Sarah Good, Goody Osburn, Birdget Bishop, George Jacobs, Goody Howe, Martha Bellows, Goody Sibber, Alice Barrow, Goody Hawkins, Goody Bibber, Goody Booth) to also being affilliated with the devil.
Act 2
- Proctor comes home late to Elizabeth and dinner
- Proctor berates Elizabeth for letting Mary Warren out of the house
- Elizabeth wants Proctor to go to Salem to tell them that Abigail is lying about being affiliated with witchcraft and is worried for the innocent people that will hang because of Abigail's accusations
- Elizabeth discovers that Proctor was alone in a room with Abigail and they argue (Proctor saying that nothing happened angily)
- Mary Warren comes back home, gives Elizabeth a poppet and tells them how Goody Osburn will hang and that Goody Good has confessed and will be kept alive
- Mary goes upstairs and Elizabeth and Proctor argue about Abigail again (how she might try to kill Elizabeth for her place)
- Hale enters
- Hale questions Proctor on why he does not go to church, and his 10 Commandments (he forgets adultery)
- Proctor tells Hale that Abigail said that she was dancing in the woods with no thought of witchcraft
- Learn that Rebeecca was accused of witchcraft and are stunned
- Cheever comes to say that Elizabeth is to be arrested, as Abigail was stabbed with a needle in the stomach and it was said to be done by Elizabeth's poppet, and Procter resists
- Elizabeth is chained and taken away
- Proctor abuses Mary into going to court with him and confessing that is was her poppet
