01 what is fake news
- The term is used to refer to a phenomenon of false information on the internet, they are manufactured and assembled with fake content so that they go viral on social networks.
- The intent is to mislead and induce others to believe falsehoods or doubt verifiable facts.
what is fake news??
- Wrong news is the result of an unintentional error or inaccuracy on the part of a journalist, while 'fake news' is falsified information for political, economic or other purposes.
What is the difference between 'fake news' and wrong news?
Fake news spreads the internet six times faster than true news, through social networks such as Twitter, Facebook or through more closed applications such as Whatsapp.
How do they propagate?
In Portugal, there is a Portuguese website, Polígrafo (https://poligrafo.sapo.pt/), which, however, has become a partner of Facebook.

1 - Check if the website is real 2 - Does the news have a date? Is it really recent? 3 - Is the news signed? By whom? 4- Suspect bombastic news; 5- Do not trust links shared on social networks.
How can you identify 'fake news'?
Always read the news in its entirety before sharing it, so you will know the whole content and avoid disclosing inaccurate information;
- Google the news and see if other credible media have also shared something about it;
- Research the portal that is reporting the fact and see if its reputation is reliable;
- Check the publication date of the news and make sure it is recent;
