Liliana Segre is an Auschwitz survivor and she's, also, an Italian senator.She was born in a rich family, but when the fascist racial laws passed, her family lost everything they had and she couldn't go to school anymore.In January 1944 she left on a train to go to Auschwitz, after a week she arrived at the death camp, where she did forced labour.Liliana was freed on may 1945, after that she wrote books about her terrible experience.

Nelson Mandela was born on 18th July 1918 in Mvezi. He studied law at the university and he was expelled in 1940 for a demonstration.He contributed to the creation of the African National Congress. The actions against racial segregation started in 1948 and Mandela was arrested for the first time. After 10 year he was arrested for the second time. 27 years later Nelson Mandela became a free man and president of the ANC. He won the Nobel peace prize in 1993 and he was named as president of South Africa. Nelson passed away in 2013.

Rosa was born in 1913 and she lived in USA. She married an active member of the NAACP. On 1st december 1955 she took the bus to go to home and when the driver asked her to give up her seats to a white man, Rosa refused and she was arrested. A boycott was organised by the Women's Political Concil. African-American people walked, cycled or went by car. In 1956 the United States said that racial segregation laws about pubblic trasport were uncostutional.

He was born in 1869 in India. When he was 14, Gandhi married Kasturbaj. After that he studied law at the London university and went to live in South Africa. In 1914 he went back to India where He became the president of the Indian National Congress. He organized many non-violent campaigns like the "March of the Salt" and a series of hunger strikes. From 1940 to 1944 Gandhi was in prison because he had requested the British to leave India. In 1947 India became Indipendent and in 1948 He was killed by a Hindu extremist

Malala was born in 1997 in Northem Pakistan. She loved going to school but when the taliban took power in her country, she coudn't go to school anymore. When she was 11 she wrote a blog about her life under the Talibanand when Malala was 15 , she was going home when a Taliban Terrorist got on her bus and shoot her, but she survived. In 2013 in her speech at the United Nations Malala spoke up for the right to education for all. In 2014 she won the Nobel peace prize.
