Anxiety
These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger and can last a long time. You may avoid places or situations to prevent these feelings.
Major depression
Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living.
Someone with DID has multiple, distinct personalities. The various identities control a person's behavior at different times. The condition can cause memory loss, delusions or depression. DID is usually caused by past trauma.

Impact on society
What has been it's impact on society?
First of all, the factor that PDD affects the relationships of their patients, causing on them, somehow, an isolation from loved ones. Also, lack of productivity at either work or school, due to the dearth of interest and energy in their activities. Besides, must take in account, that they may require long-term treatment, which can be expensive and time-consuming. Finally, rooted in what was said, the most warning fact, is that increases the suicide risk, that kills more than 800.000 people annually.

- Women are three times more likely to experience dysthymia than men.
- Approximately 1.3% of adults in the U.S. have a dysthymic episode at some point in their lives.
