when computers first became avaliable to the public, they were very large and slow and could really only be used to type things and maybe code some stuff. over time, they became smaller (and then larger again) and they became able to process information at over thousands of times faster than they were ever prevoiusly able to. for example, Megabytes became Gigabytes, which later became Terabytes. (1,000,000 bytes ->1,000,000,000 bytes -> 1,000,000,000,000 bytes)

Binary Code
BInary code is what computers use to store and process things like images and text. each number is a bit, which is like a switch - there are only two values: on or off (0 or 1). these values can be used in many different combinations in order to store certain information or code.
