*The marketing campaign for a film is the different ways in which the film’s “message” is presented to an audience.
- What factors make you want to go and see a film? - How do you decide which films to see?
Debate :
Based on just the titles, what clues are there about the content of the film? Try to say what exactly you are basing your ideas on.

* Trailers help audiences understand the genre of a film. Trailers are a form of advertising that is structured to encourage as many people as possible to see the film at the cinema. Trailers are designed to create a ‘buzz’ around the film and to generate excitement.

* Marketing campaigns use a film’s genre to gain our interest. It must also show us how a new film is different to others : this is known as the USP (unique selling point) of the film. The USP could be:- The innovative use of special effects- An unusual mix of genres- A popular star

*There are several elements to a marketing campaign for a film or series : the trailer, posters in the street or on public transport, online and viral marketing. Trailers are shown at the cinema, on TV and online with poster and radio campaigns also giving wide coverage for new film releases.
