Mary Shelley and Frankestein
Mary Shelley was born in 1797, thw daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin. Godwin's house was visited by some writers, as Percy Bysshe Shelley. Mary and Percy began a romance and eloped. When she was eighteen began her most famous work: Frankenstein and it was published in 1818. She died in 1851.
Mary Shelley's life
The epistolary novel Frankenstein was published anonymously in 1818 and the receiver of the letters was Margaret Saville, Walton's sister. It is composed of three levels of narration and trhee different point of view:

The dæmon's only request from Frankenstein was that he should create another being: a female to accompany him but when he assembled his second work he started to question his promise and destroyed his work. Frankenstein married Elizabeth and the monster killed her.
Victor Frankenstein grew up in Geneva and he bacame interested in natural philosophy, chemistry and mathematics. After four years of fanatic studying he created a monster of gigantic proportion from assembled body parts taken from graveyards, slaughterhouses and dissecting rooms. It became a horrible creature.

Percy and Mary Shelley were fascinated by the esperiments with electricity that had been carried out by Luigi Galvani. The monster is the first literary embodiment of the theme of science and its moral responsibilities
