Introduction

Introduction:

How would we like our children to learn in the future? It was from this thought that our group decided together that we would make our project about an invention to help teachers. I believe that 99% of those in this room can relate when I say that we all have strengths and weaknesses. Our project consists of an algorithm that helps teachers to teach students not as a group, but as individuals.

How can it help?

But what does this algorithm consist of? Through the results of the first tests in each subject, our program will determine that Mary isn´t good at math but it´s very good at science. After identifying the difficulties of each student, our algorithm puts together a compilation of tests, exercises and quizzes that help the student to consolidate past content that may not have been well learnt and practise the current content.

Pros and cons

Pros:

Something we often see in the classroom are teachers explaining an exercise a second time. In this scenario, there are generally 3 types of students: - Those who understood in the first explanation; - Those who understand in the second explanation; - Those who need further explanation. To solve this problem, the algorithm selects exercises according to the level and pace of learning: Struggling students can learn at their own pace and start with easier exercises; Students who understand the subject easily continue to develop their skills with exercises that challenge their thinking.

Cons:

  • However, due to the constant improvement that all students will exhibit, there will always be a discrepancy between the different types of students.

Conclusion

Conclusion:

In short, our project is a tool that intends to help teachers adapt forms of assessment for each individual student. In this way, students can obtain study materials appropriate for them and improve grades. In turn, teachers get enthusiasm and better performance in the classroom from the students.

"We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.”
