Technology fosters personalized and active learning, provides continuity to learning outside formal contexts, and facilitates the development of new competencies and skills related to the needs of today's and tomorrow's world.

Technology democratizes access to content and instruction by breaking down barriers such as teacher shortages, high costs or location. In other words, it enables learning everywhere and anytime.

It is through technology, and only through its use, that people can develop their digital skills. In addition, the new generations are part of this technological revolution, they grow up with technologies, and therefore of their educational context.

ROLE OF THE TECHNOLOGY

  • Professors did not speak the same language, a language they create together as we build collective intelligence.
  • They did not have conversations and form schema around learning in a digital age both within their school learning community and outside in networks and communities worldwide.
  • They never needed to own what they believe and then incorporate the transformation they seek into every area of school culture.
  • Distribute examples (on slides) to students in real time over a network;
  • Collect the students’ answers (as annotated slides) to an assigned activity and deliver them to the instructor as soon as students submit their responses;
  • Allow the instructor to privately preview (on a tablet) submitted student work;
  • Enable the instructor to selectively show student work on a public display.

Development Of Socio-Emotional Skills

To adapt to a world that is constantly changing, interconnected and where less job stability is expected. These include flexibility and adaptability, initiative and self-direction (agency), and productivity and accountability.

Culture

Computational thinking is not synonymous with programming. According to the authors of Computational Thinking and the New Learning Ecologies, it is a basic skill that enables people to function better in the digital society.

Computational thinking

Technology, especially artificial intelligence, can identify knowledge gaps and/or conceptual misunderstandings accurately, adapt to the needs of learners, and can be used in and out of formal learning contexts.

Personalization, Flexibility And Learning Outside Formal Contexts

It is evident that there are very positive perceptions regarding the form of online learning, its enjoyment, and its level of difficulty.

Languages

Enhancement experiences, where technology replaces certain tasks or functions with potential functional improvements. Transformational, which happens when the use of technology allows redesigning tasks and functions, and creating new ones that were not possible before.

SAMR framework, developed by Ruben R. Puentedura. The framework is a useful tool for evaluating how technology is being used and ways to leverage it in a meaningful way.

How do we ensure that technology is effectively incorporated to make this happen?

Twenty-six of the fifty American states now have various models of virtual schools approved and integrated into the public system. While in some cases the learning is hybrid, i.e. the student learns online, but goes to school for tests or different projects, in other cases it is 100% virtual.

I. (2022b, July 1). 20 Digital Tools for Classroom for Innovative Teachers & Students. GraphicMama Blog. https://graphicmama.com/blog/digital-tools-for-classroom/

Glogster is one of the amazing digital tools for classroom which helps children learn by using visual content. This app allows you to create multimedia posters by combining text information, photos, and videos. The creations are called glogs and stored in a special library called Glogpedia. Containing over 40 thousand different glogs on various subjects and topics, this tool can become one of your most trusted tools for teaching children effectively.

Glogster

As an interactive whiteboard and screencasting tool, Educreations is an alternative to Explain Everything. Educreations allow you to explain any kind of concept in an interactive digital environment which means you can teach and learn from anywhere. The app allows you to approach each student individually by replaying their work and allowing them to learn at their own pace.

Educreations

Explain Everything is all about interaction in a virtual environment. This digital tool allows students and teachers to collaborate on an interactive whiteboard thus encouraging group activities. This software can also be integrated with Schoolwork, Dropbox, Evernote, GDrive, OneDrive, and more useful apps.

Explain Everything

The technological revolution will continue to advance and bring. This process will help people of all economic and generational levels to take advantage of the opportunities in this new world, their ability to adapt, and their initiative and persistence to acquire skills and knowledge concerning new technologies.The move towards a more learner-centered, personalized education that allows the development of all 21st-century competencies and skills has to become the main objective of all actors involved.

Integrating technology in the classroom allows for more outstanding (and more effective) communication between students-teachers and students-students as central actors in the teaching process. Learning is vital for student academic success. Using technology in the classroom also creates a space for students to have a voice in their learning. We have to help them with many responsibilities at all levels. Since the deliberate use of technology could violate rights, it is necessary to use technology with values, creativity, effectiveness, and safe.
