Doris Pilkington Garimara was an Australian writer of aboriginal origin. In 1996 she wrote Rabbit- Proof Fence; a story based on the true story of 3 aborginal girls, one of whom was her own mother.Doris also suffered the separation from her mother when she was barely 3 and a half years old and she didn't see her mother again until she was 25.Other books:Caprice: A Sockman's Daughter. It's the true story of Molly, an alboriginal girl who gets away whit her two cousins from a goverment institution, which instructs half-castle alboriginal children to bedomestic servant and so belong white sociality. They run away and went home to Jigalong, starting a long journey of more than 1600 Km on foot with Rabbit-Proof Fence as their guide while they were being chased.

settiing
I found the book interesting, entertaining and easy to read, in fact I have read it in a short time, because being a true story I wanted to know the end.I really don't agree with what many children suffered from Australian government when separing children from their families because they are mixed race.
