Summary
She was an Australian writer of Aboriginal descent. She was born on the Balfour Downs Estate (Station) in northern Western Australia near the town of Jigalong. Because her birth was not registered, her birth date was recorded on 1 July 1937 by the Department of Native Affairs, and she was taken from her mother to be raised at the Moore River Mission when she was only three and a half years old. Her younger sister, Annabelle, was also abducted and told she was an orphan and, over the years, became estranged from her Aboriginal heritage. Doris was only reunited with her mother 21 years later.

RABBIT-PROOF FENCE
I recommend this book because it is inspired in a real history, and you can learn with it about past conditions on aborogins lifes. It is sad, but it is interesting, I also invite you to watch the film about this book. Rating it, for me it would be an 8/10.
