Tales of the Alhambra is a collection of essays, verbal sketches and stories. It was partly written in 1828, when the author visited the palace of the Alhambra, Granada. But it was published in 1832.The book combines description, myth and narrations of real historical events. It tells about the destruction of some of the palace's towers by the French under Count Sebastiani, and the further damage caused by an earthquake.
