Process Explained 
Step 2: validate

  • Upon arrival in France, your Long-Stay Visa must be validated within three months of date of entry in France.  
  • To validate your visa, you might need to visit your local prefecture in person. 
Step 1: Apply to the french consulate
  • Apply to the French Consulate or Mission in your country of residence.
  • Public documents must be legalised/apostilled and  translated into French by a registered sworn translator.
  • One might be subjected to administrative fees for visa application and, if applicable, for a residence permit.
  • You must be accepted by a higher education institution in France and have a pre-enrollment certificate from school.
  • Complete the CampusFrance process prior to making the visa appointment and receive the CampusFrance attestation.
  • Proof of financial resources of €615 minimum per month, (around €8.000 cash) plus tuition or notarized financial guarantee. 
  • The applicant must have French accommodation for the beginning of their stay.
  • Have health and liability insurance.
