Biography
Martin Luther King was an excellent student, he graduated in sociology from Morehouse College and a He graduated in divinity from Crozer Theological Seminary. In 1955 he led the bus boycott of Montgomery, Alabama, which led to the desegregation of the city's buses. . He is remembered as an important figure in American history and a symbol of the struggle for racial equality and justice.
What was he fighting?
Martin Luther King was born in 1929 in Atlanta and I died on the fourth of april in 1968 in Memphis. He was an activist who fight against segregation racial and discrimination. he use non violence to bring equality around the world. Martin Luther King fights to abolish racism because when the British colonized America in 1606 with the triangular trade they took and enslaved people of color taken from Africa and were identified as an inferior race
I have dream
in 1963 he protested in Washington for work and freedom and spoke about his speech called "I have a dream". his speech spoke of the hope that one day the African-American population would have the same rights as whites.“I have a dream that one day my four children will live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. A year later Martin Luther King will win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. The speech was said in front of Lincoln Center, dedicated to former US President Abraham Lincoln.
From Washington to georgia
The Congress of Racial Equality organized a first group of Freedom Riders that departed Washington on May 4, 1961 by bus, but were attacked almost there in Anniston, Alabama. Participants were admitted to a hospital. On May 21, 1961, King gave a talk about this at his church while under siege by thugs, eleven members then arrived in Albany in December 1961. In November 1961, an anti-segregation movement was formed in Albany, Georgia , into which the non-violent struggle movement of King and the SCLC also entered in December.
