This is the festival of San Fermín - Saint Fermin where the ‘running of the bulls’ takes place each year. Although Spain is a very diverse place with people of many cultures and religions, Christianity is the main religion. Many of the biggest festivals are still based on the Christian tradition of celebrating Saints’ days.

Special calendars in Spain show all the saints’ days. There is at least one saint for every day of the year and sometimes more. Some people who want to name their child after a saint, use these calendars to help them choose a name.
