INTRODUCING MYSELF

My Head Teacher introduces me to the nineth grade. She speaks about me, and she tells them what is my purpose in her classes.I intruduce myself, tell them my name and explain a little about my Pedagogial Practice, give a summary about my life and tell them that I am happy to be in this class. The Teacher Claudia (My Head Teacher) talks about rules in the class with my work, she says that I can do tests, grade their test or activities in class, and that she will not be always with us, when I´m at San Gerardo María Mayela School she wont be in class, because in these cases that will be my class.

When I walked into the ninth grade classroom I was nervous, my hands were sweating and my heart was beating fast. Teacher Claudia had told me not to be afraid and to trust myself. When she introduced me to the group everyone was a little surprised, some said "He is so young" but "He is not a teacher yet" or "I know who he is". All these things made me feel confident, when I made my presentation, I was calmer, I spoke naturally and I quickly became part of the group. This point was very important for me, because the teacher Claudia has allowed me to be autonomous in the class, and this is very important, because she gave me her confidence (although it is a big responsibility, I know I can handle it). After answering a few questions about myself in ninth grade, I started with the class, the topic for that day was Simple Present.

In resume, I´m Happy.I have had an excellent teacher in my Pedagogical Classes. In my before school and now. I have had the opportinity to improve with every class, I have learned from my Head Teachers, and It has been awesome. When you are in class, and you feel like you are part of that class, you understand that this is your place. I am like this. I think I am in the right place, when you´re doing that thing that you love, when you are working and you´re doing it with a big smile, so you are doing that thing that makes you happy. When the students talk about a topic, or when they ask me a question and I can answer it, I have completed one more mission. Every class has different moments, when I can follow through with each one, I am sure that I want to be a Teacher.

I wanted to know what the students knew about the topic. I asked some questions about the topic, I explaned the Present Simple Tense -Negative, Affirmative, and Interrogative Form-.I made some sentences with the students about the topic, we talked about routines in present tense, when a student didn´t know something, if another student knew the answer, she/he asnwered. We worked on some words they did´n´t know, and we practiced speaking skill as well, with some verbs, specially with verbs that start with S.

I like working in groups, I feel that when we work together we can think better. I like to improve class participation. I like to ask questions to the students, if they answer correctly, my explanation is good, if they don´t understand, so, I have to change the techniques, and improve my materials, and my strategies.

I consider that I should improve the teaching techniques, sometimes the control of the class is a little complicated. Although everything is a process, I think that from now on I should focus on improving my skills in the classroom, to understand how students understand more easily. Something interesting in this class was working as a team, I feel that teamwork is important and that they learn better that way, when they make mistakes, when they dare, when they try and fail.
