My family is around the lower-middle class to the upper-working class. My mother can no longer work due to medical reasons, so the main source of income comes from my father. He is a mechanic for the Altoona Water Authority and has had that job for around 30 years. I believe we are a part of this class because we are not hurting for money, but we also can't go on vacations every other year. Before when my mother could work, I'd say we were around the upper middle class. She was a supervisor for education at Altoona. We didn't make an exponential amount of money, but we were better off then. Although money can't completely buy happiness, we could do more back then with the extra money we had. I'd say we got to this point because my dad did not want to go to college. So there aren't many 'high paying' jobs without further education. The other reason is because my mom can no longer work.
