School Shootings

Trapped in School with no memory of how they got there, Cat, Jeffery, and other students, along with the school itself, start changing in unusual ways. The students turn into different creatures while School now expands and contracts as if it's breathing. The Changed and The Administration are two different groups of kids that have had a truce for a while now. This truce was put on edge after Cat and Jeffery came to talk to Jake, from the administration, about a dead body, which Jake perceived as him getting blamed for the murder. After a while, The Administration becomes furious and insists that if they sacrificed The Changed to School, they'd be free to leave. Along with The Administration, there are many other unknown dangers in the school, such as the lost students. The moment Cat thinks she doesn't remember, the first memory floods into her mind, immersing her. At first, these memories don't make sense, but throughout the story, more and more memories come back to her, answering many of the questions about where she's from. To save themselves from the mental deterioration of the School, Cat must find a way out, but to do that, she needs to remember how she got there in the first place.

By the end of the book, Cat still has many questions, "Why were we put here?" and "What was this all for?". Her claws are covered in the blood of the people she's killed. She knew the answer to these questions, she knew that this wasn't the real world, because her last memory had been the final puzzle piece.

While running away from the students of the administration, Cat and Jake run into Mark. Mark roams and halls and is found to be more hostile than the other lost students. Cat and Jake run out to the boiler room in a frantic attempt to escape Mark.

After hiding from Mark in the boiler room with Jeffery and falling asleep there, Cat wakes up to the room being vacant. With no sign of Jeffery, she takes off on a search for him. As she approaches the administration, she sticks close to the shadows.
