RAUL BRANDÃO PUBLIC LIBRARY

Dra Juliana Fernandes is the coordinator of the Raul Brandão Public Library. The library has 30 technicians from different areas who support the activities as well as the maintenance of the library. For the creative area, she has cultural animation, sound, and computer specialists in the area of history in general and in the area of local and in the area of local history, who organizes or are responsible for all the library's initiatives. It also works in partnership with all the school libraries in the county.

"Sábado Mágico" (Magic Saturday)

• the aim of this project is to the promotion of exchange between children and adults.
• Target audience: all those who enjoy storytelling/theatre, painting, plastic arts, music, and all forms of making and giving culture. This activity takes place on Saturdays in the library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• The library maintains, on its online page, a set of reading suggestions. In this case, each month has an author.

HUMUS - GUIMARÃES LITERARY FESTIVAL

• The Raul Brandão Public Library every year, at the beginning of March, a Guimarães

Literary Festival, inviting several well-known personalities, according to the theme. This year, the centenary of the birth of Santos Simões, an important figure in the Guimarães community and in the April Revolution.

• One of the invited this year is the filmmaker Rodrigo Areias, responsible for the film production of Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture. There will also be a meeting with writers, among others.
