For how long has Dra. Juliana been working on the library?

TTwenty Years.

The Library is under the authority of the Guimarães’ City Hall that chooses the responsible for its management, in this case, Dr. Juliana Fernandes. In each section, there is a responsible person.

"Magical Saturday" - Is a project that aims to provide the possibility to promote an exchange of enriching moments for kids and adults alike.

To what projects/services is the library connected to?

What are the advantages of this work?

Always being very well informed.

The recognition of the importance of the functions of a library; and, the social role of a public library.

What are the difficulties/disadvantages of this job?

Libraries are increasingly needed, but they have to adapt to current times and technology.

What do you think about the future of the library?

The librarian profession is over, and they are no longer library technicians (in public libraries), but information technicians. The profession doesn't end, but it evolves.

Do you think this is a dying profession?

Degree in Management Informatics.

What is your basic education (at school level)?

Yes. We have to filter the information that is important and the way it reaches them.

Do you think working with children requires special care?

Very difficult, because you have to deal with different kinds of people.

Is it difficult to perform public service?

How many books are there in the library?

There is an annual budget to buy the books. The library receives suggestions from readers and keeps an eye on the top sellers in bookstores.

How do you enrich/update the site's fund? Through donations or acquisitions?

The books are to be used, the readers do not put the books away on the shelves. But they ask readers to be careful not to scratch, etc.

What care should be taken with books?

Curently the Oldest book is "España sagrada". De la iglesia de España tomo V.- the book is from 1750. As for The Most recent is "Collen Hoover's".

What is the oldest and the most recent book?

Three.

What is the maximum number of documents we can have in our possession?

How long can we have the document(s) in my possession?

Loan terms depend on the type of document and are renewable as long as there are no reservation requests on that document. Adults/Children = 21 days.The documents from the local fund and CD or DVD= 10 days
