GM Food are foods derived from genetically modified organisms, the GMOs.
3. Genetically Modified Foods
- GMOs can be defined as organisms in which the genetic material, the DNA, has been altered in a way that does not occur naturally.
- The technology that is responsible for this process is called Modern Biotechnology.
- This allows selected individual genes to be transferred from one organism into another, it can happen also between non-related species.
