Doris Pilkington , was best known for her 1996 book Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence, a story of three Aboriginal girls, including Pilkington's mother, Molly Craig, who escaped from the Moore River Native Settlement in Western Australia and travelled for nine weeks to return to her family. The book was made into an internationally successful film in 2002, directed by Phillip Noyce. He has also written other books such as Caprice, A Stockman's Daughter or Under the Wintamarra Tree.

My personal opinion
In my opinion it is a good book, it tells a familiar plot in which you realise the misfortunes of the less developed countries, and it is also easy to read without great elaboration and with very simple structures. It is perfect for people who are just starting to read in English.
