Internal ConflictCharacter vs. Self: a problem that takes place inside the character's mind.

External ConflictCharacter vs. Character: a problem between two characters.Character vs. Nature: a problem a character has with the natural world or envrionment.Character vs. Society: a problem a character has with society.

Conflict: any problem in a story.

Types of Conflict

Warm-Up Activity

Reading

  • You will receive a sheet with a blank story mountain/pyramid.
  • Complete the pyramid for The Iron Man.
  • Write down what the main conflict, exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution is.
