LEAP 2022-2023
The Brain
Students studied the brain and how it develops. They then made "brain hats' which labeled and showed the various parts of the brain.
Football Challenge
Students reviewed their knowledge of who to fold the flag and used that same method to fold paper footballs. Students then designed and built goal post with the challenge to be the team to most consistently score field goals. No requirements were given for size. Students discovered that the goal posts which incorporated that largest area were the easiest to be accurate with scoring field goals.

Flag Folding
Recycling
During the 2022-2023 school year, LEAP students started a paper recycling collection program at Oak Ridge Intermediate. Students placed collection boxes in every classroom. Once a week, LEAP students go around throughout the building and collect the paper for recycling. Each week, the students are amazed at the quantity of paper that is collected.
Paper Chain Flag
Students studied the ratio of the area of red to white stripes on the flag. They then created a paper-chain model of the flag which is now displayed in the commons area of the building.
