Plant diversity refers to the existence of wide variety of plant species in their natural environments. There are around 300,000-500,000 species of vascular plants that exist on earth
(Chahal, 2021)
- Mesophytes, which comprise the majority of angiosperms, are those that grow in areas with moderate water availability.
- Ornamentals.
- Gymnosperms.
- Herbs (Herbaceous) These plants have a short, green, fragile stem.
- Bryophytes.
- Erect. These plants develop upright.
- Ephemerals.
- Xerophytes.
- Autothropics.
- Vines.
- Many else: others.

1 - Tropical Floral Park 2 – Lake Park 3 – Forest Park 4 – Legacy Forest
There is a lot of diversity of the plant species found in the Sireh Park that can be categorize into 4 zones of habitat.

TROPICAL FLORAL PARK
Flowering plants (angiosperms) are by far the largest, most diverse, and most important group of land plants, with over 250,000 species and a dominating presence in most terrestrial ecosystems. Angiosperms are plants that produce flowers and bear their seeds in fruits. Erects- These plants grow upright. Most trees, shrubs and some herbs have strong stem (axis) and thus can stand erect on the soil.
(Trisha, n.d)
TROPICAL FLORAL PARK
Mesophytes are terrestrial plants which are neither adapted to particularly dry nor particularly wet environments. An example of a mesophytic habitat would be a rural temperate meadow, which might contain goldenrod, clover, oxeye daisy, and Rosa multiflora.
(Trisha, n.d)
TROPICAL FLORAL PARK
Shrubs are medium-sized plants with bushy and hard (but not thick) stems with branches. Their stem braches out near the base.
TROPICAL FLORAL PARK
Ornamental Plants - are also referred to as garden plants has beauty as its main trait. It is a plant primarily grown for its beauty either for screening, accent, specimen, color or aesthetic reasons. Common ornamental features include leaves, scent, fruit, stem and bark.
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is a species of tropical hibiscus ( evergreen shrub )
Jasminum sambac is a species of tropical jasmine ( small shrub)
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
Duranta erecta is a species of flowering shrub in the verbena family Verbenacea that also known as ornamental plant in tropical.
Cuphea hyssopifolia is an erect to spreading, low-branching, compact, free-flowering subshrub with finely-textured leaves that also known as ornamental flowers.
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
Dracaena reflexa is a is widely grown as an ornamental plant valued for its richly coloured, evergreen leaves, and thick, irregular stems.
Hymenocallis littoralis or the beach spider lily is a plant species of the genus Hymenocallis.
(Trisha, n.d)
TROPICAL FLORAL PARK
Gymnosperms- are a group of plants that produce seeds not enclosed within the ovary or fruit. The seed producing plants, but unlike angiosperms, they produce seeds without fruits. These plants develop on the surface of scales or leaves, or at the end of stalks forming a cone-like structure.
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
Gnetum gnemon is an evergreen tropical tree from the family Gnetaceae which is grouped under the Gymnosperms
Cycas is a genus of cycad. It is the only genus in the family Cycadaceae
(Trisha, n.d)
TROPICAL FLORAL PARK
A vine is any plant with a growth habit of trailing or scandent (that is, climbing) stems, lianas or runners. Is a plant whose stems require support it either climbs up a tree or other structure, or it sprawls over the ground and can climb with tendrils or with other “grasping” appendages, or by coiling their stems.
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
Calopogonium mucunoides is a vigorous, creeping, twining or trailing, short-lived perennial herbs coloured hairs.
Lygodium microphyllum commonly known as, variously, climbing maidenhair fern
(Trisha, n.d)
TROPICAL FLORAL PARK
Seedless Vascular Plants That contain vascular tissue, but do not produce flowers or seeds. In seedless vascular plants, such as ferns and horsetails, the plants reproduce using haploid, unicellular spores instead of seeds.
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
Polypodium vulgare is a species that as evergreen fern of the family Polypodiaceae.
Dicranopteris linearis is a common species of fern (vascular plants that reproduce via spores and have neither seeds nor flowers).
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
Angiopteris is a genus of huge evergreen ferns from the family Marattiaceae.
Schizolobium parahyba is Brazilian fern tree, which is the species from tropical America
(Trisha, n.d)
LAKE PARK
Hydrophytes, The plants growing near water or submerged under water are called hydrophytes. Such plants have poor root system, soft stem and poor vascular tissue. The bulk of the tissue is spongy provided with air spaces with free-floating and fixed-floating
LAKE PARK
Aquatic and rhizomatous herbs
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
Nymphaeaceae is commonly called water lilies
LIve as rhizomatous aquatic herbs in temperate and tropical climates around the world.
(Trisha, n.d)
FOREST PARK
Trees (Arborescent)The plants are longer or larger than shrubs, hard and woody, very well developed and thick. Possess a prominent trunk.
(Trisha, n.d)
FOREST PARK
Excurrent-The lower part of the stem is thicker which gradually tapers above. The plant appears conical due to acropetal arrangement of branches on the main stem
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
It was a deciduous or evergreen tree with conspicuously layered branches, growing 10 - 20 metres tall. The bole is erect.
Terminalia mantaly
(Trisha, n.d)
LEGACY FOREST
Autotrophic plants Most of the plants are autotrophs as they are green and manufacture their own organic food from inorganic raw materials
(Trisha, n.d)
LEGACY FOREST
The plants which grow in xeric or dry conditions or where water availability is negligible, are known as xerophytes Psammophytes – Plants growing in sandy soils
(Flora Fauna, 2022)
It was a Seashore Mangosteen which is a species of mangosteen
Garcinia hombroniana
