Index

The Phanerozoic Eon is a very large space of time that encompasses all human life and all the way back to the dinosaurs. The Eon has lasted since 541 MA til now,

Time Breakdown

Weather is all over the place in the Phanerozoic Eon. There are times of extreme cold and times of extreme heat. One great example would be the Ice Age from 2.4 million years ago which lasted until 11,500 years ago.

Weather

There is a vast catalog of inhabitants during this eon. There is anything from Dinosaurs to Doctors. The phanerozoic is also the most inhabited period of earth's history.

Inhabitants

There is plenty of major events in this Eon. The one I want to focus on is the asteroid impact that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. The asteroid that wiped them out hit earth roughly 65 million years ago. This event is significant because it could happen again and it shows that we are not immortal.

Major Events

  • The Phanerozoic is divided into three eras: the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic, which are further subdivided into 12 periods.
