Back
Today I woke up in Dallas at 9am and packed the car to start my road trip. My first stop is at the resturant King's in Oklahoma City, about four hours into the trip. I stopped here to take a driving break, eat, and go to the bathroom. At King's I ate had breakfast for lunch because I was too tired to cook a good breakfast this morning. I had orange juice, 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, and lots of bacon. It's really hot here, I was buring up the whole time but that's the only thing to ruin my good roadtrip mood.~ June 1st, 1947

2 ~ Wichita, Kansas
After my first stop in Oklahoma I continued on my way and after 3 hours I reaced Wichita, Kansas. This is a beautiful town and they have fun looking movie theaters. For dinner I went to the Oklahoma Cafe (weird name cause it's in Kansas) and I had meatloaf and mashed potatoes, which was really good. While I was eating I meet this very nice older woman who was there and we finished our meals together. After that I went to my final destination of today, The Oklahoma House and rested until I fell asleep.~ June 1st, 1947

Murphy Crain ~ 400 W. 3rd. St. Amarillo, TX
I woke up bright and early at 8am today and had a quick breakfast, of french toast, while still in Wichita. After that I started my 6 hour trip to Amarillo, Texas. When I was on the way I was stopped by a cop in Texas so that was kinda scary. I then continued on my way to my lunch stop in Amarillo. When I got to the Murphy Crain restaurant I was super hungry so I got a stake and vegetables. After the lovely food I decided to take a little walk around and I got stopped by a cop on the street, but thankfully nothing happened. This wasn't my favorite town but that might be because I was hot and in a bad mood.~ June 2nd, 1947

4 ~ Roswell, New Mexico
I got back on the road after Amarillo and made my way to Roswell, New Mexico, arriving after 4 hours. As soon as I reaced Roswell I felt that I was a weird town, the vibe was very alien. For dinner I ate a fresh tomatoe soup at the Sunset Cafe. Then at the R. Brown tourist house I recouprated and got myself ready, mentally, for tomorrows long drive. I really liked this place it was realativly hospitable and very pretty, this town was out of this world.~ June 2nd, 1947

Hill’s Cafe ~ 345 S. Meyer St. Tucson, AzCriterion Rooms ~ 139 W. Ochoa St. Tucson, Az
Today I got a bit of a later start at 11am before I left to leave Roswell. I wasn't able to find any place to go to the bathroom on my 7 hour route today, so once I arried in Tucson I was desprate to go. After I went to the bathroom at Hill's Cafe I ordered a coffe and peanut butter and jelly sandwhich. I stayed in the cafe for a while just talking to some people that dropped in to eat. Once I got tired I went to my room at the Criterion Rooms tourist house and went to sleep. Today's drive, although long, was pretty nice because of the backdrop of beautiful motuntains. At this point in the trip I am still hopeful that this will be a overall good experience.~ June 3rd, 1947

I was really tired from yesterday's night out so I woke up at 12 and hit the road. My first stop today was Pearl Mckinney Lunch in El Centro. After my 4 hour drive I went to the bathroom and had chicken and mashed potateos for a late lunch. Then I went and had a look around the quaint town, it was vey nice and pretty. 8 ~ Los Angeles, California
After my lunch I made the 4 hour trip to my final destination on this road trip. My first stop in Los Angeles was Long's service station to get my car checked out before the trip back. After the check up my car got a clean bill of health and I made my way over to The Fawn and met some family for dinner. After that me and my cousins hit the town and ended up at Down Beat night club. We danced and partied the night away until I went to my hotel, The Olympic, for some sleep. This was a great road trip but I think this was my favorite day.~ June 5th, 1947
