From my point of view, there were a few organisational problems, but apart from that, the fair was really succesful

Evaluation

After the fair, all of the teachers and students got together in the assenbly hall to talk about what could be improved for future editions of the fair by raising our hand to make suggestions

We decided to make this project because, as during the last few years there has been a decline in the number of people that sign up to the British Council, we feel as it if was necessary to make the fair to promote it and show the people how we work. Our main goals included making sixth-graders less afraid of the British Council Programme and English in general and showing them the kinds of activities that our community takes part in.

Why?

The fair took place in the school’s assembly hall and outdoor space on 27th January from the 2nd to the 5th period.

When and where?

To do list:

Justo and Carolina had already made some models of coins, so during the previous days to the fair we had to:

  • Cut cardboard pieces in the shape of circles
  • Paint them in golden and silver
  • Draw the highschool logo in some of them

The workshop I took part in was a celtic coins workshop. We began by explaining to students a bit of Celtic and British history and then explained to them they needed to paint 2 coins using Celtic patterns or a runic alphabet with different markers. After that, they could give them volume using a special tool and they kept them.
