PROJECT SUMMARY

Create an emblematic stamp that pays homage to First Nations in Canada and shows off a plant or an animal using an explosion of colour reminiscent of beading techniques among certain Indigenous peoples and the works of Jean Paul Riopelle.

  • Sketchbook

  • Pencils

  • Eraser

  • Thick white Bristol board

  • Thick white Mayfair style cardboard

  • Sheet of white paper

  • Glue stick

  • Different colours of liquid gouache (gouache with metallic colours can be used)

  • Objects with a rounded tip for printing (old pencils, cotton swabs, etc.) or a squeezable container of gouache that allows students to work with small dots

  • Black drawing ink

  • Square brush

  • White oil pastel

  • Masking tape

  • Scissors

  • Sink with running water
