The AVID 7 students have been busy the last two months learning how to calculate their GPAs, writing SMART goals for the rest of the school year and creating their first college reserach project in the form of a snowflake, and filling out their end of the quarter grade slip! Up next is a career exploration project. Students took a career interest survey and chose a career cluster that aligns with their interest to research!

AVID 9 students recently completed their 2023 vision boards. Each student created a vision board that covered who they are, what is important to them, what they learned in 2022, and what they want to accomplish in 2023. The vision boards will give our students some positive momentum as they tackle the new year! We have also been doing tutorials and collaborative study groups as the first semester comes to a close. AVID 9 students are working hard to achieve their GPA goal as they recognize the importance of starting high school with a strong grade point average. Students are excited for our semester 1 celebration on Thursday January 26th as we take a moment to acknowledge and reflect on all of the great things we have accomplished throughout the first half of the school year. We are looking forward to an even better 2nd semester!

The sophomores recently finished a college profile project. They virtually toured 4 different colleges and narrowed down likes and dislikes of each to determine what they are looking for in their future college. We also completed goals and vision boards for the year 2023. Students are finishing up the semster with a passion project- genius hour. They have done reserach and created a presentation. They will utilize proper presentation skills and present their project to their peers as their AVID final!
