Conditional sentences connect two things: a condition and a result. Something happens as a result of something else, or happens only if a certain condition is met.

What is If Conditional Sentence?

The Conditional sentences type 1 is used to talk about things which are possible in the present or the future. It is generally used for things which may happen.

Usage

If + Simple Present, Subject + will/won’t + Verb.

Structure

If it rains, I will stay at home. If I wake up late, I will miss the bus. If it‘s sunny, we‘ll go to the park. If Juan leaves, Paula will be sad.

Example

 You can reverse the order of the clauses. If the “if” clause comes first, a comma is usually used. If the “if” clause comes second, there is no need for a comma. I will stay at home if it rains I will miss the bus if i wake up late
