Maritim space protection

-There is 2 400 000km2 of maritim space that france protects

-France has one of the biggest maritim superficy in the world

-It does have protected maritim spaces in every ocean in the world except antartica

Single use plastic

-8 tons of plastic pollute marine ecosystems every year in the world-prohibid single-use plastics-plastic bottles must be made of at least 25% recycled content by 2025.

Advices given by France

Even if you don't live near the oceans you need to be careful of what you do !-buy fish from sustainable fisheries-use reusable bags-use public transport-save water and energy-recycle plastic-help associations

What does our region do in order to protect the sea life ?

SUSTAINABLE FISHING

-fishing most respectful-"No Kill" project in Brittany- protects endangered species, preserves fragile marine areas, selects the species, quantities and sizes of fish.- limits and annual quotas are imposed on all fishermen- electric trawl, has been banned in France since August 2019-angling in brittany

- an association has been set up

- fishing nets are not recyclable

- problem for marine biodiversity
