It can range from minor importance to a major life – threatening problem. • Most small simple bruises are example of minor internal bleeding. • It can caused by wounds that are deep enough to injure major blood vesselsand organs, as in deep wound to the chest or abdomen, causing blood to flow freely into the body cavity.

• Help casualty into a comfortable position, if possible have them lying down • Regularly monitor vital signs. • If the casualty becomes unresponsive and not breathing normally follow DRSABC • Keep the casualty warm and treat for shock ** Do not give any food or liquids, including medications

but apply padding on either side of the object and build it up to avoid pressure on the foreign body.
