THEATRICAL ACTIVITY

Alexander was born on May 25, 1942 in the city of Malmyzh, Kirov region, in the family of Alexander Kalyagin and Julia Zaideman. The father died when his son was not even a year old, Yulia Mironovna took care of him. Mom stubbornly tried to make a violinist out of him, although one day Sasha sat on the violin in protest and crushed it. Already at the age of seven Alexander knew that he wanted to become an artist. One day at the family council, it was decided that after the eighth grade, the young man would enter a medical school to get a "real" profession. Alexander graduated from medical school with a degree in obstetrics. He worked as an ambulance paramedic for two years. Only after that, he still realized his dream and entered the Boris Shchukin University.

CHILDHOOD, YOUTH, FAMILY

By the fourth year, Alexander was already one of the best graduates when, among other actors, he was invited to serve in the Taganka Drama and Comedy Theater, headed by Yuri Lyubimov. In 1970, he was an actor of Sovremennik, and a few months later he joined the Moscow Art Theater group, after the split of which, together with Oleg Efremov, he joined the troupe of the Anton Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. In 1992, Kalyagin founded and headed his own theater Et Cetera. For several years Kalyagin rented various premises, and in 1995 he settled on Novy Arbat. Ten years later, he built a new building for the theater. The opening ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. During its existence, Et Cetera has released many premieres, for example, the play "Faces", productions of "Don Quixote", "Shylock", "King of Ubu".sity.

THEATRICAL ACTIVITY

Alexander Kalyagin's filmography includes more than a hundred roles, many of which have become living classics. The most famous images of the actor were created in the seventies and eighties. These are the railroad worker Vanyukin "A friend among strangers, a stranger among his own", and the head of the Gestapo Franz Maggil in the film "The Omega Variant", and the film director Kolyagin in "Slave of Love". He began to receive new offers from directors.

CINEMA

Since 1996, the People's Artist of Russia has been the permanent chairman of the Union of Theatrical Figures, there was almost no time left for filming in the cinema. In 2007, the last picture with the participation of Kalyagin was released at the moment. In the company of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, he appeared in the adventure comedy "Rood and Sam", after which he stopped accepting offers for filming. The actor believes that he did everything he could for the movie.

Alexander got married for the first time in the second year of the institute. His chosen one was Tatiana Korunova. Family life was developing happily. They played together at the Taganka Theater and left there together, in 1967 their daughter Ksenia was born. Everything was fine until Tatiana Fyodorovna burned down from cancer in a matter of months. She died in 1972, and 11 months later Alexander's mother passed away. He remained a widower with a child in his arms, began to eat a lot on a nervous basis, got fat.

PERSONAL LIFE OF ALEXANDER KALYAGIN

Alexander met the actress Evgenia Glushenko, thoughts about a new family began to appear more often. Kalyagin ventured to propose to the woman only after Ksyusha herself declared that she wanted "Aunt Zhenya" to move in with her dad to live. In 1978, Kalyagin and Glushenko got married, and in 1980 their son Denis was born. Ksenia and her children and husband now live in America, she is a programmer. Denis graduated from the prestigious American school "George School", became a journalist.

PERSONAL LIFE OF ALEXANDER KALYAGIN

In 2022, the People's Artist turned 80 years old. He remains artistic director of the Moscow Theater Et Cetera and chairman of the Union of Theatrical Figures of Russia. Despite his health problems, Alexander Alexandrovich admitted in an interview that he does not feel the weight of the years he has lived and continues his creative activity both on the stage of the theater and on the radio, where he leads the author's project "Echoes of the Theater" with Alexander Kalyagin."
