Your class has been discussing how they would spend their December school holidays and your teacher has asked you to write an essay about how you would spend your school holidays. In your essay , you should write about :

A holiday is an occasion recognised by the state or federal government and marked on calendars. Most holidays are celebratory, fun and most of them no work or school. It is the time for people to spend their free time doing what they want, such as traveling and relax.

There are several things that I want to do during the holidays soon. I want to explore some places in my city, Kuching and take the opportunity to relax somewhere far from the city such as the beach or the village. Furthermore, I can spend time with my relatives as much as I want since its the only time I can see them altogether. I will also write my journal about the things that I will do during the holiday.

I would like to go to the Sarawak Cultural Village as it is a very popular attraction near Kuching. You can experience local tribes in their authentic homes. The village is actually a living museum. Sarawak used to be inhabited by many different tribes that roamed the forest. Tourists can see many typical tribal houses and many of them are known as long houses. Other than that , I would like to go to Damai Beach that is located near the Sarawak Cultural Village and on the Santubong Peninsula at the edge of the rainforest of Malaysian Borneo with Mount Santubong towers over it. Damai Beach is a good choice for relaxation as it is surrounded with pristine nature and ethereal views.

The reason why I chose to explore the Sarawak Cultural Village is to know more about the history and cultures of the local ethnic groups in Sarawak. Furthermore, this place has a shop sellimg Sarawakian handicrafts, traditional snacks and the most interesting part of it is they will show us how it is made with passion and heart by hand. Other than that, I want to enjoy my holidays at Damai Beach because I would love to spend some time with my family and relieve their stress caused by work or studies. There are many exciting activites we can do such as sunbathing, exploring jungle tracks, having a barbeque party and riding a jetski. It is also a great starting point for short-trips to nearby destinations. Last but not least, I will write down interesting points to my journal about my experience during the holidays to look back and cherish the memories in the future.

Holidays are a good time to take a break from the routine. It is the time to indulge in our hobbies, meet our old friends and extended family members. However, we must not let our studies take a back seat during this time. We must devote some time to studies even during our holidays.
