75 RICHARD HOLE Who died February 13th 1855 Aged 65 years Also WILLIAM HENRY HOLE Son of the above Born March 8th 1842 Died August 11th 1875 ROBERT CHARLES HOLE Son of the above RICHARD HOLE Born November 11th 1826 Died April 20th 1884 Richard Hole married Frances Marsland in 1824. Frances was the daughter of Thomas Marsland the first MP for Stockport. Upon the completion of the Wellington Rd Turnpike Trust in 1826, Thomas Marsland bought land to build a mill. Wellington Mill is now the Hat Works Museum. When completed the building was occupied by a partnership between Marsland and two of his sons-in-law, RICHARD HOLE and Alexander Lingard. When the business was established in 1834-6 he removed himself from the partnership and a third son-in-law, William Courteney Cruttenden joined the firm. In 1851, Richard Hole was bought out. Although his death was registered in Stockport Richard does not appear to have lived in Heaton Mersey.
