  1. With a Chrome browser window open, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Choose Settings near the bottom of the menu.

  1. Click on Customize Your Chrome Profile
  2. Name your Chrome Profile
  3. Pick a theme color
  4. Pick an avatar

  1. Click on Accessibility
  2. Notice the options that you (and your students) have.

Quickly rearrange your tabs by dragging and dropping them with your mouse.

Easily reopen a tab that was closed! Option 1: Mouse Option

  1. Put your cursor at the top of the Chrome window (not on a tab) and Right Click with your mouse.
  2. Choose Reopen Closed Tab.
Option 2: Keyboard Shortcut
  • For Windows Users: CTRL + shift + t
  • For Mac Users: Command + shift + t

Pinning a tab takes away the X so that it can't be closed. To Pin a Tab:

  1. Right Click on the tab you'd like to pin.
  2. Choose Pin.
To Unpin a Tab:
  1. Right Click on the pinned tab.
  2. Choose Unpin.

To locate a tab that is playing sound, look for the sound icon next to the X. To Mute a tab:

  1. Right Click on the tab that is playing the sound (you will see the sound icon).
  2. Choose Mute Site.
To Unmute tab:
  1. Right Click on the tab that is muted (sound icon with line through it).
  2. Choose Unmute Site.

Keep a lot of tabs open? Use Tab Groups to organize everything you need! To Create a Tab Group:

  1. Right Click on a tab.
  2. Choose Add To a Tab Group.
  3. Choose New Group.
  4. Give the group a name.
  5. Choose a Tab Group color.
To Add tabs to a current Tab Group:
  1. Right click on a tab and choose Add to a Tab Group.
  2. Choose the Tab Group you created.
Open/Close a Tab Group:
  1. Click on the Tab Group title (it will be the color you chose).
  2. The tabs in the group will collapse and expand when you click.
***Tab Groups don't save if you close Chrome completely. You will need to create a new Tab Group the next time you open Chrome.

Make sure that anything you download from within a Chrome Browser (even email attachments) go where you want them to go! Set your custom Downloads location by clicking Change and then choosing the file location.

If you don't see your Bookmark Bar, click on Settings ➡️ Bookmarks ➡️ Show Bookmark Bar. Create Bookmark Folders to organize all of your bookmarks!

  1. Right click in an empty spot on your Bookmark Bar.
  2. Choose Add Folder...
  3. Name your folder
  4. You should see it populate on the Bookmark Bar.
Add pages to a Bookmark Folder:
  1. While on the webpage you'd like to save, click the star in the address bar.
  2. Click the dropdown next to Folder and choose the folder you created instead of leaving it on "Bookmark Bar".
  3. You can also drag and drop Bookmarks you have already made into your folder.
