So they invited the Wampanoags to joint them to the feast

One year later, the harvest was very successful and they had a lot of food for the winter

6. THE FEAST

what happened AFTER THE FEAST?

After the feast, the Wampanoag gave land to the Pilgrims tobuild a town. Both peoples agreed to a pact of friendship and trust. They built a town called Plymouth, like their home in England.Soon, the town needed to grow. Many pieces of land were taken from the Wampanoag in the next few years. The Pilgrims had forgotten the kindness of the Wampanoag. Sadly, after many wars, the Wampanoag were driven from their land.

WAMPANOAGS TODAY

Today, about 4,000-5,000 Wampanoag live in New England.Recently, the Wampanoag found some of their relatives in theCaribbean islands, descendants of the Wampanoag people who were sent into slavery after a war between the Wampanoag and English. The Wampanoag continue their way of life through oraltraditions, ceremonies, hunting and fishing. Children go to school and learn in the Wampanoag language. The Wampanoag persist in keeping their traditions. We might respect the Wampanoag too.
