Spanish Mireia Belmonte qualifies for her fourth Olympic Games

Mireia Belmonte is one of the most influential people in the world of Spanish and worldwide swimming. She is the first female Olympic champion in the history of Spanish swimming, with some even calling ger the greatest Spanish swimmer of all times.Belmonte has won four Olympic medals, two at the Rio Olympics games for 200-metre butterfly in 2016 and the 400-metre individual medley. She has also won other awards, like in London for the 200-metre butterfly and 800-metre freestyle. Mireia Belmonte declared online: ‘’ I am very happy with the competition this weekend and to have my ticket to my fourth Olympics!’’ She also said: ‘’It is no easy to arrive where I am today. I still have to train every day to achieve my dreams and I am aware that there is a lot of work ahead to improve in many aspects and to be able to do my best thus summer’’.

LISA CARRINGTON: A CANOEING SUPERSTAR!

Lisa Carrington is a flatwater canoeist and New Zeleand’s most successful Olympian. She is currently named ‘’the Usain Bolt of kayaking’’ as she is talented and fast when canoeing. Lisa currently has six Olympic medals: Five of them are gold and the other one is a bronze one. She also has 23 medals in her canoeing racing career. Carrington says that she really enjoys herself canoeing and competing and she promises that she can become even better! She also describes herself as a determined, consistent but humble and kind person. Lisa Carrignton affirms: ‘’I hope I can inspire others to believe in themselves and to do their best in sports. But also to have fun and respect others when doing it’’.

Lin Dan is a Chinese badminton professional player. He is a two-time Olympic champion, a five-time World champion, as well as a six-time All England champion, a british badminton tournament. He is considered the greatest badminton player of all time! By the age of 28 he completed the ‘’Super Grand Slam’’, the most important badminton tournament in the world! Everybody calls Lin the ‘’Super Dan’’ thanks to his opponent Peter Gade, who named him like that after the All England tournament. Nowadays, all his followers call him that! Lin Dan explains: ‘’My parents wanted me to play piano, and become a famous and professional pianist, instead I chose to be a badminton player. This sport is the best in my life!’’

David John Smith is a worldwide famous Boccia Paralympic athlete. David was born in the United Kingdom and is the winner of three gold medals in the Paralympics of Tokyo, Rio and Beijing. He also is the winner of a silver medal in London and a bronze one in the same city. He is also famous because of his performance in the World Championships and European Championships where he won 18 medals in total. David is the most successful player in Britain and in the whole world. Smith compits in the BC1 Boccia category, where athletes have Cerebral Palsy, that is to say problems with using his muscles. That means he either kicks or throws the jack with the help of boccia ramps or boccia pointers. David explains: ‘’I am a boccia lover, and I train daily very hard to achieve my dreams, but I also have more hobbies than that: I study and like aerospace.’’

Simone Biles gymnastics' career is still uncertain, but she has talked to the press about the next Paris Olympic Games on Thursday while speaking at an event in Houston. She expressed her feelings towards the competition: ''I feel like I still need to recover from the past games, as I am still exhausted. What I can affirm is that I will be there to support my teammates.'' Biles is the greatest gymnast in the history of the sport. She won four gold medals and a bronze at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and added another bronze and a silver medal at the most recent Summer Games in Tokyo, where she decided to focus on her mental health.
