Research PROJECT
Concept paper
Pick a topic at the beginning of class.
Complete weekly Research Journals.
Drafting of Research Paper
Annotated Bibliography and Final Research Paper
This is our first paper. You will select a picture that represents something from your past, and write a "photo story" about how the picture represents your past. You are given creative license as to how you tell the story.
Pick a concept of your choosing. It can be related to your research journal topic or a completely different topic. Then, you will break this concept down into its parts and put it back together again, like one would take apart an engine, study it by its various parts, and then put it all back together with a new knowledge of how it works. Here is a word cloud of past concept topics:
The Research Project is something we start on from the beginning of class. Below you see the steps we will take, in order from left to right. Click on the icons to read descriptions.
The final two parts of the research project. The Final Research Paper is the revised and edited version of your Draft Research Paper, and your Annotated Bibliography is the compilation of your Research Journals, plus a capstone paragraph.
This is where your research journey begins. Pick a topic! Any Topic! It can be a topic related to your field of study, profession, or area of personal interest. We will then spend the rest of the term researching this topic.
Prewrite, Draft, Revise, Edit. This is the recursive writing process which you will practice in writing your paper. The Research Paper Draft is your chance to produce a full-length research paper in a step-by-step process, and submit that draft to me for a full review.
Each week, you will find one article from the DDCC library research database and craft an annotated bibliographic entry for each.
