Analyzing the most important principles in materials development we find that we have commonly accepted that in most language classrooms the majority of lessons are still based on materials because materials development must be fundamental in any course designed to train, the materials must be clearly linked to the curriculum educate or develop new or practicing teachers and not only them but whoever is doing the teaching-learning adapting, substituting, supplementing, and finding effective ways to implement the materials chosen for use in the classroom

Authentic materials are those tools or resources that teachers use in the classroom to help them better develop activities to meet the identified need. EJ: - Texts -Images -Audios- Music - Handouts -Movies

Are those materials schematized and created especially to be used for educational purposes during the classroom process. can be found at Learning objects, defined as "didactic-digital resources designed for the construction of learning", can be mentioned. - textbooks - Dictionaries

- Tends to motivate the student - facilitates the learning process since it offers a variety of strategies that meet the needs of the learner. - the student can exercise self-evaluation. -it is adapted to the level of knowledge of the learners

The advantages and disadvantages of using non-authentic materials in the class

Disadvantages -Difficulty in oral comprehension due to the diversity of vocabulary not elaborated for students. -It is common to find words that are not in the dictionary.

Advantages -Resources at hand and easy to find -Diversity of topics for learners -More realistic approach to the learners in the language field -Variety of skills
