INTRODUCTION
El Salvador, a small country in Central America, has been rocked by a relentless plague of gang warfare. The crime in El Salvador has a long period of existence, it comes mostly from criminal groups called gangs, the term used in Spanish is "Maras", with a civil war that marked society forever, leaving a nation, that was once prosperous, at a disadvantage for a long period.

Photograpgy 8: Jorge E. Cuellár, (June 23, 2022), No One is Safe in Bukele’s Gang War, https://nacla.org/bukele-gang-war.
One of the most recent solutions is the zero-tolerance policy. The current president of El Salvador declared a state of emergency in 2022. Another solution, for Sustainable Development Goals Fund (N.D), “The strategy could focus around three main areas, strengthening the capacity and effectiveness of State institutions and civil society organizations to prevent and reduce violence".
SOLUTIONS
Photograpgy 9: Flora Charner, Tatiana Arias and Hollie Silverman, (April 28, 2020), Lethal force, https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/28/americas/el-salvador-gangs-president-orders-lethal-force/index.html.
The government must continue to monitor the security of its citizens, but it must also request involving families and community participation in the planning and implementation processes of solutions facilitates the appropriation and sustainability of these processes.
