Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting Why don't I have any courses? Your professor hasn’t opened them yet. Most professors open their courses a day or two before the semester begins. If the semester has begun, contact your professor or the registrar’s office to make sure you are in the correct course. Why is this course page not loading or activity not working? There are a number of reasons this might be happening! Here are some things you can try:

  • Check that you have the right equipment. Remember, our courses work best on a Chrome web browser and/or on Windows computers.
  • Clear Cache and Cookies on the browser. Here's how to do that on Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox
  • Check your internet connection. Here's how to do that on a Windows computer, a Macbook, or a Chromebook
  • Try turning your Wi-Fi off and back on
  • Try connecting to a different network (e.g. the library, a mobile phone, a cafe)
  • Try using an incognito or in-private browsing mode on the browser you are currently using. Here's how to do that on Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox
  • Try using a different browser
If none of these fixes work, it's time to contact your favorite people in the College IT department! Why can't I find my assignment? That depends on where you're looking! Try the steps listed in this Canvas guide. Why can't I submit this assignment? Try the steps listed in this guide. Why can't I submit this quiz? Try the steps listed in this Canvas guide, or click here for the Lockdown Browser Quick Guide.

For the best performance on a mobile device, download the Canvas Student App (Android, iOS). The Canvas mobile apps require Android 8.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later. Canvas will also work on mobile web browsers, but not all features will be accessible and functionality is limited. Internet Browser We have found that our courses work best with Chrome. Canvas works with the following browsers and requires the most updated version.

  • Chrome 104 and 105
  • Firefox 103 and 104 (Extended Releases are not supported*)
  • Edge 103 and 104

This button shows you all the groups you are a part of. Click here to learn more about Groups!

This calendar automatically displays assignment due dates and announcements, but you can add additional information to it yourself! The Inbox enables you to send and receive messages from instructors and classmates within Canvas. Click here to learn more about Inbox!
